Firstly exhibitions, local and national events and trade fairs are powerful things. They allow your business to become more ‘personable’ and allow you to get stuck in with your potential target market. There are events for almost every sector and attending them is a sure fire way of helping your business make contacts and generate customers.
Consumer shows can be a great way to give your business a headstart too. Giving on hand demonstrations on your product often means people can ‘try before they buy’. And you’ll find that the visitors that attend these shows have done their research beforehand: they know what will be on show or which stand in particular they want to see. You won’t have to worry about trying to grab the attention of less than interested people than you would amongst your specified target market.
On the other hand, why don’t you attend as the visitor? Take with you a stack of your business cards and approach the businesses that you feel you will gain the most from or vice versa.
Networking opportunities are endless and especially with free networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, getting to know people has never been easier.
