Department for Business Innovation & Skills to support new businesses

The Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) plan to help make it easier for people to start up a business. In a recent press release, they acknowledge the importance of encouraging would-be entrepreneurs to consider starting up their own companies. They are committed to making the UK one of the fastest countries in the world to start up a new business and plan to enable the unemployed to start a business by providing access to mentors and small loans, through their ‘New Enterprise Allowance scheme’, which will begin testing in January 2011. The BIS observe that ‘starting up a business should be quick, simple and a viable option for everyone’, and we couldn’t agree more!
