When a limited company is formed it immediately takes on the status of “Active” (displayed on the Companies House webcheck and on your company admin portal). This has nothing to do with the trading status of a company; it simply means that the company is “live” as opposed to being in liquidation or struck off. Therefore a company can be active and dormant at the same time.
