A Company Dissolution is the process of closing your company. As outlined by Companies House, a company can only be dissolved if it:

• Has not traded within the last 3 months
• Has not changed the company name within the last 3 months
• Is not subject to any legal proceedings, current or proposed
• Has not made a disposal for value of property or rights

The required form to file the company dissolution is the DS01 – once filed the application to close the company is advertised in either the London, Edinburgh or Belfast Gazette.

Once the proposal to dissolve is published and as long no objections are raised the company is normally dissolved within 3-4 months.
