8 ways you know you're an entrepreneur in the making

Business dictionary.com define an entrepreneur as “Someone who exercises initiative by organizing a venture to take benefit of an opportunity”  This might describe what an entrepreneur is – but is there a set of qualities that an individual needs to become one? How do you know if you have what it takes to go it alone and start your own business? Let’s have a look at some key pointers that tell you whether you’re an entrepreneur in the making:

You see solutions in problems

When you see something that doesn’t work as well as it could – you think of ways to improve it, because in your eyes every problem has a solution. If something doesn’t work well you take a pragmatic approach. Instead of complaining you ask, ‘How can this be better?’.

A challenge is an opportunity to learn

You don’t shirk at challenges. Whether it’s training for a marathon, learning a new language or acquiring a new skill. You thrive by challenging and testing yourself, and are always looking for ways to learn and grow.

Failure means trying again

Most people get upset when they work hard for something but don’t achieve their goal. Not you. You see failure as an opportunity to learn from what you did wrong. Even after a crushing disappointment you come back more determined than ever.

The will to win

You’re ultra competitive in everything that you do. Whether it’s playing sport, a board game, or pitching an idea – you always play to win. Winners strive to be the very best in their field by staying ahead of the competition. This is the approach you take when competing against others.

Hard work? No problem

You do all tasks to the best of your abilities and have standards so high, you won’t stop doing something until it’s perfect. After all, the more you put in, the more you get out.

You’re the boss

The idea of working for someone else fills you with dread. You simply don’t like being told what to do and when to do it. You would much rather be the master of your own destiny than depend on a ‘boss’ to decide what you’re worth.

Thrive on risk taking

You love stepping out of your comfort zone and taking risks – even when others tell you otherwise You just don’t like to play it safe and are only truly in your element when pushing the boundaries.

Positive thinking

You have a positive outlook. Whilst you recognise things may not always go your way, you understand that not everything is in your control. You’re an eternal optimist so believe things will always work out in the end.
